If you’ve always wanted to write but didn’t know where to start this is for you…
More experienced writers will enjoy the challenge of trying their hand at different genres of writing.
This one week holiday workshop will look at Short Stories, Novels, Theatre Plays, Film, Television and Radio. The course is suitable for both absolute beginners and more experienced writers.
In the mornings, there will be a short introduction to each kind of writing and a group ideas session. Don’t worry if you haven’t any ideas as it’s often better if you start from scratch. The rest of the day is for writing, individual sessions with the workshop leader and enjoying yourself! At the end of the week you will have either finished a piece of work or completed a substantial section of it.
Non-writing partners are very welcome and will be invited to join in group meals and any outings. For non-writers, there are a number of activities available locally such as horse riding, bird watching and walking: or they can relax by the pool with a book from our well stocked library.

The workshop leader is Graham Carlisle whose television credits include Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Byker Grove and a number of European productions. Graham has taught creative writing at both degree and post-graduate level at Salford University and at several other Universities in the U.K.
